Straightforward Anytime Meat Sauce

Factors:

• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 10 ounces mild Italian turkey sausage, casings removed
• ½ pound floor turkey meat (mild and dark meat)
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• ½ teaspoon kosher salt
• ½ teaspoon garlic salt
• 1 minute (6 oz.) yellow onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
• 2 tablespoons refrigerated basil pesto (a lot like Giovanni Rana)
• 2 garlic cloves, chopped (about 2 tsp.)
• 1 ½ cups dry crimson wine (from 1 [750-milliliter] bottle)
• 1 (28-oz.) can peeled San Marzano tomatoes
• 1 (15-oz.) can diced tomatoes, drained
• 1 (15-oz.) can tomato sauce
• 1 ½ tablespoons tomato paste
• 1 (2- x 3-in.) Parmesan cheese rind
• Chopped fresh herbs of preference (a lot like basil, rosemary, and oregano)
