Ingredients
3 tablespoons
Fat ( rooster, pork, butter, pan drippings )
3 tablespoons
Flour
3 cups
whole milk
2 cups
sliced mushrooms ( I desire shiitakes ) sauteed in 1 T butter
1.5 teaspoons
salt (or to sort)
1.5 teaspoons
pepper ( would maybe perhaps possess to be peppery )
Instructions
- Heat stout over medium warmth. Add flour 1 Tablespoon at a time whisking repeatedly. Cook stirring frequently for 3-4 minutes.
- Add milk a 1/2 cup or so at a time, whisking repeatedly. Lower warmth to medium low and simmer for 10 minutes or unless neatly thickened.
- Add simmered mushrooms, salt, and pepper.
- Wait on over buttermilk biscuits, mashed potatoes, grits, or your favourite starchy vessel for flavor.
