Factors:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 10 ounces mild Italian turkey sausage, casings removed
- ½ pound floor turkey meat (mild and dark meat)
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 minute (6 oz.) yellow onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
- 2 tablespoons refrigerated basil pesto (a lot like Giovanni Rana)
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped (about 2 tsp.)
- 1 ½ cups dry crimson wine (from 1 [750-milliliter] bottle)
- 1 (28-oz.) can peeled San Marzano tomatoes
- 1 (15-oz.) can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 (15-oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 ½ tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 (2- x 3-in.) Parmesan cheese rind
- Chopped fresh herbs of preference (a lot like basil, rosemary, and oregano)
