This recipe is personalized from Jo Stepaniak’s easy and forgiving “golden gravy” in Vegan Vittles. In fact feel free to adjust the herbs you use to suit your style. Caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms also compose an out of this world addition. —Gena Hamshaw

  • 1/4 cup

    chickpea or brown rice flour


  • 3 tablespoons

    dietary yeast flakes


  • 1 1/2 cups

    low-sodium vegetable broth


  • 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons

    diminished-sodium tamari or soy sauce (you would moreover want to change essentially essentially based totally on how salty your broth is)

    olive oil
